1) This is a new low for Samsung. Apple had a specific complaint about a specific device. Now Samsung replies with this patent nonsense? Really it makes Samsung look desperate and weak.
2) I bet one day in the near future Samsung will regret this move. Apple will source other fabs for their business. Micron, AMD's spun-off foundry, heck even Intel would probably work something out just for Intel. These American companies wouldn't steal Apple's IP.

How quickly you forget that Apples the aggressor, Samsung is merely defending themselves. Anyone whos paying attention knows Apples iPhone success is massive. There's no basis for Apples petty plotting.

If this ipod killer was coming out of MS central (software dev, etc) i wouldn't be concerned. However the team that is working on it (xbox) actually are decently creative.
Still they need to start actually making money one of these days. Subsidizing new versions for ppls itms libraries it would cost them roughly $1B... They can't sell their player for a premium (if they could they wouldn't need to subsidize song, right?) so the margins are likely to be thin, as are the margins on online music store business (except for record labels). This seems yet another venture without profits in the foreseeable future for xbox division.

Are you planning on pre-ordering your HTC sensation so you can avoid the masses of people lined up to buy it?
Not sure if your being sarcastic but HTC are very hard to get around the launch time in the UK. Anyway yes, I am going to. The HTC Desire was almost impossible to get for about a month around release over here in the UK because of the massive demand for it.

sounds interesting, though i have a feeling many people will just ignore the feature and end up touching the screen anyway, lol.
I am not going to read all 110 replies, so this may have already been put out there.
Remember the other patent with the LCD with the built in little photo cells, think these would know when something was above them?
The screen will have a clear scratch proof cover over it that you could touch if you wanted too.
I can't see people Not touching the screen, just hovering mm above it, no way.

I happened to notice that one of my bushes just got its flowers, so i figured I would play around with the tripod, cable release, and the landscape lighting.

Also, I'n not a big fan of using batteries in mice. Why not have a wireless mouse that is re-chargable? Or one that you can use wires with if the battery gets low?
I disagree with this. Why should every single device I need to recharge have a seperate wire to deal with, or even if it were some common wire, like the one used with the iPod, why should I have to keep track of all these things when I can just use rechargable batteries in everything and then charge them from a single charger? If I am at work and my BT mouse dies in the morning, should I have to hook a cord to my computer or the wall to charge it? Even if I can still use it as it charges, what was the point of getting the BT? With batteries, I just have two sets and can swap them out on the fly when needed while the others charge.
EDIT: BTW, I absolutely love my Mighty Mouse and was thinking just this morning how I would love to have one with BT. I am in need of another mouse as I have taken my wireless and Mighty Mouse to work and have a lonely iMac at home. SWEET!

One thing im not too keen on is the Safari loading icon. I think the loading bar in Tiger is much easier to see.
If you are working in another window you can see the bar shooting along (or not) the Safari window with out looking directly at it. If they keep this new one then you will have to 'actually look at it' to see where its at.
I'll chime in too agree with everyone on this :) Sites have all different favicons in that spot--so there's no one image to show the page is loaded! Bad place for a progress meter. The big bar was better.
I want a way to see how much space the trash is taking up before I empty it. Is there a way? There was in OS 9 and OS 8.

Taking a good look at Leopard and what's on Tiger, I think that the majority of changes are either evolutionary or not really that exciting. /yawn

Parallels just posted an update on their blog about USB 2 and 3D graphics:

We're still working on both and are still planning on including these in our next version of Parallels Worktation and Parallels Desktop. Beta launch for these products are still slated for around the turn of the year.
