when you file for the 485 you can use old priority date. priority dates can be transferred if old 140 was approved and you changed the company to restart the process all over again.
Can you use an PD from an old labour application, that was approved but the labour has been used for another employee?
I think not as from your answer it appears , labour & i-140 must have been approved for the same person, just wanted to get it clarified.

Good idea Lecter. A bit like remembering to tell your wife how she looks (caution advised) I have no problem with posting comments. I absolutely love to stare at the beautiful images on this site. From my novice perspective, they are just about all in the impressive to brilliant range. I get a lot of inspiration & ideas from you guys. The webmasters stunning sports & concert photography. Paul Popes absolutely knock out, whatever he does stuff. Don & Pressmans outstanding digital darkroom magic (Pressmans Exmoor phots are out of this world) Lecters I WANT TO BE THERE RIGHT NOW! phots. Bob Gleasons super sports images & across the board versatility. I particularly take note of Bobs stuff because I know he hasn't been shooting that long, so his learning curve has been pretty meteoric.

even if in july bulletin the dates move back, think anyone can file till jul31st.
The applications will be valid as long as it is post marked before 31st july.
thanks dallasblue...these things were freaking me out...my family is in india and plan to come back on july first week...i just didnt want to apply on july 15th and then realize that the dates were retrogressed mid month...that would be a big deal...
these lawyer websites are posting that they can stop accepting applications mid month without even putting out any notices...i just wanted to ask someone if anybody have any known record of this thing happening in the past...i am still worried because of this what appears to be baseless fact...but since it comes from a lawyers website my doubt still remains...can someone please help me with some conclusive facts???:confused:

Did you surrender your I94 on the way out? If so, did the IO give you a new I94 when you came back in? The other gentleman made a comment about not surrendering the old I94 if traveling by road and if the trip is less than 30 days.
When we have traveled to Matamoros, MX for stamping we had AP and H1/H4. On return we have used H1/H4. NO questions asked at the border check post.

She is a derivative on my pending AOS, has a valid EAD/AP. She used to work on H1 and stopped work sometime ago. Does she need to do anything/is she automatically considered to be in AoS status?

Please appply EAD renewal in 120 days advance. You will get in time. :)
If I work on EAD and do not get the EAD card before it gets expires, do I need to inform my employer about the status. If I inform them they will be removing my name from the payroll and it will be hard to include it again. It is like my job getting terminated.

One of my friends had his 485 pending. He took leave of absence from company and went on to pursue full time MBA for 2 years.
In the middle of MBA, company had to remove him from payroll due to re-org.
Green card came in a few months.
He is now doing a hot shot MBA job using GC.
Will he face issues during N-400?
Is there anything wrong in what he did?

My concern is during the H1 Extension process USCIS have touched all my files (485/EAD/AP) but not I-140.
I have put all my WAC/SRC numbers on USCIS website, I could see the LUD date changed against all files except for I-140. which apparently have a different A#.
I m worried, if USCIS would come up sometime in future n say they dont see my I-140 file.

Is there a way to check if your case has been pre adjudicated. My 485 doesn't show any LUD since oct 2008. We changed address at the time. I thought that would result in a soft LUD. Nothing since then. My priority date is Jan 2007- EB2-I.

I had filed labor in June 2008 and as per the attorney they havent received any update from DOL. I had requested my employer/attorney to atleast send a screenshot of my status and they say cases that old are hard to pull up on DOL website. Is it really that hard with DOL to login and see the status as compared to USCIS? For my comfort I requested them to send me a screenshot and I am getting stiffed even on that! Can you please answer if attorneys can login to DOL and see the status of any PERM applicant? In this age of electronic media a department as big as DOL doesnt even provide updates to applicants/firms to view their statuses?

Arrived at IAD POE with 5 days left on AP before expiry. No problems. You will get 1 full year from the date of entry on I-94 irrespective of expiration date on AP.

Its really requires lot of planning and a tough decision to make. Some of our friends say you get good package if you find the job while you are in US and then go.
It does need planning. I am hoping I could find some opportunities here before I decide to take the 'search in India by being there' route, thus my post to ask folks if they know of any such positions.
