Not so great at GREPs for Adobe Indesign. Would anyone care to help me figure out a GREP statement for the following scenarios:
1) Find letter x which occurs before letter a, ie 'xa'. Apply character style 1 to x.
2) Find letter combo xx. Apply character style 2 to the first x of this combo.
Any help would be much appreciated. I have an account on adobe.com, but i can't create threads there for some reason. This seemed like the next best place?

Why is a calling feature tied to a messaging one?
Silly.... Messaging and Voice Calling go together just like .... Vodka and Prune Juice! :D

This means the ip5 will be delayed at least 6 months. Big mistake Apple, the galaxy s2 will be in the market in 1 month, and the white model should have been launched 3 months after the black model, not now. Everybody is waiting for an update phone, not a "white coloured" one, with old hardware and same price. Bad movement, i'm afraid.

I think you're probably right. This woman probably could have been in the room when it happened and still blame it on the girl.
There is a similar case in which a teen brought her 7 year old sister to an apartment where she was gang-raped for money. The case is falling apart due to lack of evidence. They probably all wore rubbers.
A girl pimped her 7 year old sister. Animals don't do stuff like this.
TRENTON City police have charged a 15-year-old girl as an accomplice to the gang rape of her 7-year-old sister.
Police said they believe the older sibling was paid for having sex with multiple partners Sunday night during a party at the troubled Rowan Towers apartment complex, and that she then sold her sister to others at the party.
Police said they believe the younger girl was raped by five to seven individuals, who held the girl against her will and threatened to kill her if she screamed or if she later told anyone about what happened.

It's not clear to me *why* it goes on sale at 5 PM, it's just clear that's how it's going to happen. I expect Apple store employees to direct iPad 2 buyers to a line which will start getting serviced at 5.

If you consider the details this is of no surprise.
1) Too many still on contract to switch given the release date of the vPhone.
2) Too many see it as full $ for older tech as the next iPhone should be soon.
I honestly think that the iPhone4 will still sell well as it is about to become, what the 3GS is now... the 2nd tier less $$ option. As people come off contracts or their subsidy becomes avail again, people will switch, and the non early adopter types will be happy with a less $ iPhone4 option.
You never know with Apple, but you have to wonder if they will just drop an iPhone4S in June and then we will see LTE next year as Tim Cook said the chips still draw too much power.
An iPhone4S with A5, more mem, 3.7 display, and maybe dual mode, will be be enough for the 3GS crowd coming out of contract and the original iPhone4 will make money on the value shoppers who want an iPhone.
I think the next iPhone, regardless of name (5 or 4S) will just be an iPhone4 with an A5, 3.7 screen, etc as LTE chips still draw too much power and are too big, and Apple can still make money using the same case with a 4/4S line up.

It would be great if Final Cut Pro got updated. At the moment, Adobe Premiere Pro is quite a lot better and has a more modern interface, which is kind of strange, as FCP is the industry standard.
WRONG! FCP is definitely not the industry standard. It gained a lot of traction in market share from Avid but has since regressed its gains over the last several years.

I've never been able to understand how a WiFi phone could be a success before WiFi networks become pervasive and virtually free. How could you use a WiFi phone in your car, for instance? And what's the point of having iChat on your phone when you can only use it in the currently few and limited WiFi-enabled areas? The phones aren't purely WiFi - they use WiFi when they can, and downgrade to cellular when necessary.

6 posts per day adds up to a lot if you keep it up for five years straight
i am at just under 4 1/2 posts per day and in my 5th year here, i am approaching 7500 total posts...i hope that makes me a "602" :)
So how soon until you get G5? ;)

Wow - it really is that simple
I LOVE apple.
Temps are up as I mounted 2 drives in the caddie under the 5.25 enclosure. Up to about 50deg.
The sata cards & HD's pump out some heat as well. Figure I might add another fan in the top of the case like this http://www.s155158671.websitehome.co.uk/quicksilverpage2.html to expel the extra heat.
The heat sink could maybe made more efficient. For class A amplifiers with fins running horizontally one trick is to drill holes through the fins vertically thus creating extra surface area (sides of holes) to make up for the loss in material and a chimney effect as the heat can rise through the holes. That or cut into the fins towards the base, again creating more surface area and chimney effect

The India remark is not a bash against Indians, it is a bash against overseas outsourcing, and to some extent insourcing.
India does not have the worker protections, laws, etc. that the US has. The country is basically a sweat shop, and Indian consulting firms, desperate for American business, will routinely lie, overestimate their ability to complete a project, and then treat their workers like crap. The result is the project rarely gets done correctly. This is from 15 years IT experience -I have seen it many, many times.
Microsoft routinely ships development projects to India in order to tap into low-wage labor and avoid US laws. Apple probably does some of this as well, although MS is notorious for it. The quality of MS products has gone down, perhaps as a result of this (among many other factors).
Cloud computing may ultimately mean that a H1B comes into your company, drops a couple circuits in, and everything runs from India: no need to hire American workers. The office is "virtualized." When the Indian workers become expensive, the Indian firms just ship those jobs over to China.
10 years from now, the IT industry in the US may have gone the way of the textile industry, with basically everyone losing their jobs. I hope that doesn't happen, because I like working in this industry, and my kid likes computers ...
---
As far as MS being the best corporate infrastructure, give me a break. Microsoft ripped off Novell to get Active Directory (which isn't even as good -it lacks fault tolerance and the performance is poor), and before that ripped off Apple to get the GUI. Windows 7 looks like a cheap OSX knock-off made in mainland China. MS steals ideas, Apple is the innovator.
As I said before, MS makes good front-end applications, and a few good back-end ones as well (SQL is good but very, very expensive -Exchange is a piece of shi*). Their OS still runs on old technology and it shows.
GPOs can do ten million things, 95% of which corporations never use -that is called feature creep.
Well said. The IT industry IS changing to that type of computing. Virtualized, anywhere/anytime. The idea of 20 servers in a room down the hall is going way of the Do-Do Bird. If it's not a Cloud based app, it could very well be that the data center is in another state/country. VDI is slowly creeping into the Enterprise as well. Not like some had hoped, but it is coming. The idea that ALL systems need to be the same, or ALL Windows, or ALL Mac, etc. will be moot. You'll be able to work anyplace, with any device, securely and safely. Use what you're comfortable with; laptop, desktop, tablet, phone...
When you utilize Saleforce.com...do people really think they're running that on a Windows Server with GPO's? LOL...Ahhhh...NO! It's running on a server farm of Linux Boxes and Oracle...

8) Other artists. They always have pre-defined notions are are rarely up for up for interpretation
9) Design by committee. When there is more then 2 or 3 people approving your design, RUN.
Ahhh yes.. I forgot about those two chestnuts :)
Marketing departments also seem to have the same affect on me as other artists, they have an idea and generally wont let it go... They seem to pop in awesome critiques like:
make it more webbish
We are looking for a great design, it will bring much honor and prosperity to our beloved company. (yes from a non English speaking client)
While design committee = death by firing squad
