bousozoku and all the other new moderators:
You are exactly what the forums needed to deal with the wave of spammers that have been striking as of late. I remember one member in particular (I won't name which one) had a post average of over 60 per day shortly after being banned. I know this because I checked that user's profile. 60 per day is almost surely spamming when even Mr. Anderson can't manage more than 16 legitimate posts per day - I haven't found any more active member.

I currently have 850 family plan with unlimited family texting. I tried to sign up with a CS rep, but I was told that my 850 min family was not eligible. I guess that I will keep the extra 150 min rather than drop to the 700 min family plan. Has others with 850 family plan been able to add this new messaging plan?

Today i was doing some changes in iTunes and suddenly the column or section on the right side where all my albums appear was completly gone. The library column still there and the middle one with all the artist is still there too but i want my right column back. Any ideas how to reset without affecting all my personal selections of songs?

In hindsight, I think I may have been high on Vegemite when I posted this. On that note, I'm gonna go eat some Vegemite.
Could we use that on some of the bad users? I've heard that it can also be used as road and roof patch. :p

I wouldnt imagine what arn would put on the front page had it been a sperm donor fund....

Do you have any proof that FT actually does sell email addresses?
Just because businesses wants your email doesn't equate to they'll sell your details...
Than why else do they want them? FT references their "business model" needing this "relationship". As other have said, I want their content NOT a relationship.

I have a droid.(had iPhone on ATT but didnt get coverage at work/home) I payed an extra $100 to get the 1 year commitment in Nov 2009 just in case the CDMA iPhone came out a year later. Well it did come out a year later and my verizon contract was up. But I didnt get it because it was the same 8 month old phone and there is 0 chance I am going to get locked into a 2 year deal in january for a 8 month old phone that I wont be able to trade in until the June release 2.5 years later.
I'm surprised they are surprised.

What's with all the names changes?
iTools -> .Mac -> MobileMe -> iCloud
It's not the name that's hindering Apple's online efforts, it's the pricing, features and reliability.
I just hope they make iDisk as good or better as DropBox. iDisk in its current iteration is just awful.
I'm with you. iDisk is a clunker and I never use it. Apple would be smart to just buy DropBox. It's perfect.

Personally, I find theocracy distasteful, but to describe Shari'a as stupid extremist ideology is absurd. From what I have read of it, much is a fairly reasonable social code. Hardly any worse than what prevailed through most of Europe's history.
Are you frickin kidding? Sharia law IS stupid extremist ideology. That's the only way to describe it. Maybe you should read some more. No, better yet, go live in a country that has it. When you get 99 lashes for expressing your religious beliefs, we'll see how "reasonable" you think it is. Why are you talking about europe's history and comparing it with sharia law today? Yes it was bad, but we're in the 21st century now and europe has changed quite a bit, and for good reason. Countries with sharia law are barbaric and seem to be intent on staying in the 15th century. This comment you just made just discredited anything you say on these forums, as a matter of fact, it's going into my signature to replace citizenzen's nazi comment.
EDIT: In addition to that, you have some damn nerve arguing with me over capital punishment, saying how horrible it is, and then referring to sharia law is reasonable social code. Seriously, get your priorities straight. Just, wow. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Yeah, with this previewing four months ahead of Macworld, I'd say we're headed for a major upgrade of .Mac with even tighter integration to Mail, iCal and iLife.
I still hope Mail and iCal will be collapsed into one app in Leopard.
Heh, and don't foget the iPhone is slated to debut in early 2007. Though I don't expect it to be available in January, I'll bet they will at least preview it. So I think the iPhone and .Mac upgrade will go hand in hand. So besides the phone synching with the improved online Mail, Address Book, and iCal, expect these features:
1) Ability to make blog postings from phone
2) Ability to view online photo albums/slide shows from phone
3) Ability to *post* online photo albums from phone
Although these are available from other phones and websites, I think Apple's edge will be in marketing its ease-of-use to the consumer
And hey, I just thought of something...
What if Apple not only expands the storage space for mail and files, but *greatly* expands it (maybe for an additional fee) with the intent of having people host multimedia files (music, photos, even videos) on their .Mac account. So the idea is that the iPhone will be 4GB but maybe your music collection is 20 GB. Well, you can upload the files to .Mac, and .Mac will then have the ability to stream any song in your music collection to your phone (or to another computer). Sure, there are already web-based services out there that already allow you to view and stream content from your own computer, but:
1) hosting content on your own machine may be in violation of your broadband provider's terms of service
2) your machine would have to constantly be on
3) your machine would not have as fat a pipe to the internet as if you hosted it on something like .Mac (or at least in theory it would be more constrained)
So having .Mac host streaming multimedia would be so great! Not only would your precious music/multimedia files be automatically backed up, but they would be available to you from the iPhone or from any computer. If Apple doesn't do this, some 3rd party provider eventually will.

That'll be great. It's not been improved much since its introduction.
For example, it has no bicycle route.
I think google has a lock on the map thing. I can't see apple employees driving around remapping the world to get their own data base
Google limits ability to use maps for navigation.
There are other options though.

...I just don't understand this whole "he's 18 and and adult" routine. He may be 18 in the eyes of the law, but with no real life experience behind him I hardly think he can be considered mature enough to make adult decisions. What's with this whole "hey presto the law says your an adult so you your all grow up now" ??...
You may not have been but I was perfectly able to make adult decisions about my life before I was 18years old.
At 18 the law recognised that I should be capable of behaving like an adult. It is the job of parents (and society) to make sure that there children are ready to be adults by 18years, which means they should've been preparing them for these sort of decisions for years. A parent shouldn't treat a son like a child until they're 18years and then from their 18th birthday treat them as an adult.
...I walked in on mine...
As an early teen I was in the room next to mine and had to endure a night of their role-playing passion. (Theyre normally quite straight laced).
Then a couple of years later when I was maybe 16/17years old I walked in on them at around 11pm in the living room. Mum sat in the arm-chair with a leg over each arm and Dad kneeling going down on her.
***shudders***
Embarrassed? Yes, all of us. Disgusted? No, couldnt see a reason to be. Ever sat in that chair again? No ***king way! Eww.

I'm an Apple fan, but the truth has to be told: a) 3.5" is TOO small to be practical. I have a Motorola DEFY with a 3.7" display, and even then, the on screen keyboard is not large enough in portrait mode, at least 4 to 4.3" is vital.
Why not 5"? Or 6"? 4.3" is "vital?" I doubt most people desire a phone that's the size of an old-school PDA. I know I don't.

Well, since a person is legally adult when 18 in Norway (though you only have to be 16 to have sex legally), how could I prevent him...?

I quite understand why the web designers are complaining about this - it means that users can screw up something they have spent ages sorting out. But that already happens - enlarge the text size/window size/screen resolution adn everything goes out of whack. You're not telling me that the pages are designed to look marvellous at every combination of the above?! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I hate doing web design. Paper doesn't have that problem - users can't fool around with the end product. But that's the way we're going, so you'd better get used to it, or move back into the paper industry...
