Few months agoI have applied for AP and requested for an expedite process.
I have sent two pre-stamped envelops with the application. This is at NSC.
Fortunately, they have approved it in a week and sent the AP documents using the envelops. I have recevied the documents on the next day.
If you have a valid reason, it doesn't hurt requesting the expedite process with a proper evidence.

So are scotland, wales considered dependencies? Kashmiris can get passport from Pakistan if they want. Who would give passports to Hyderabadis?

You can open a PO Box in your name and update the address with USCIS. I've done that.

Here is my situation:
My sponsoring company 'A' was acquired by company 'B' last month and name changed to company 'B' with B's pay stubs.
Am on H1 now and i applied my 485 in August 2007 with 140 approved in May 2007.
Company B informed me that they informed USCIS regarding the acquisition(i don't what they mean !!).
Questions:
1. How is my green card process proceeds with company 'B'? Should the company 'B' file I140 amendment or is there any thing they have to take care?
2. Can i join with company 'C' by invoking AC21?
Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Called again to find the same response of Denied.
The attorney's office is trying to get in touch with USCIS and find more info.
Meanwhile, planning to use InfoPass to meet with IO.
Why notice to deny was not sent to me is puzzling me. No RFE's.
I have lost 2 years as the status all the time is case received and pending (checked few minutes before too).

These are documents which have to be carried. There is no confirmation that he/she wil be asked but if asked they have the documents on hand. I got stuck in immigration for 4 hours when they asked me all the above documents. So i believe in better safe than sorry
On a side note this happened when i was travelling back from India via Lufthansa

Hi thank you again, yes i understand that visa stamp is only needed for overseas travelling purpose. You raise a good point though when you said you assume i got h1 approved with i-94 attahced. This brings me to a scenario that just happened a few months back. I applied for extension h1b and h4 and we received notification that it has been approved and the approval sent to the attorney. But the attorney has disappeared. My wifes h4 approval was returned back to uscis and mine is not known where it is. we called uscis and they said we have to apply a duplicate i-824 individually to get the approval sent back to us again. i have therefore submitted i-824 application for my wife already. and i am submitting mine this week. all we have right now is h4 receipt for my wife and a copy of the approval for h1b for me (without i-94) that usually goes to the peititoner. What do you think about this?
Oh well, since the employer H1 approval copy does not have an attached I-94, we cannot conclude anything. File a I-824 for your H1 first, I believe your employer needs to file the I-824 for H1.....For H-4, you can do it yourself since its a personal petition....Then have your employer or employer's attorney contact USCIS and enquire whether your Extension of Status was approved as well (meaning H1 approval had an attached I-94). If thats not possible, you will have to wait till your I-824s are processed and you get new copies of the approvals to check if they have attached I-94s.
Oh well, since the employer H1 approval copy does not have an attached I-94, we cannot conclude anything. Why has the second H-1 petition been pending so long? Was there an RFE? What does the USCIS on line system show?

why would someone having a GC want a H1 i don't understand. If her hubby is a GC holder obviously she might also be a GC holder. She has rights to work anywhere and for anyone in US.
If she is still in the process of gettin her GC then she might want to go in for H1 as it takes nearly 2 to 3 yrs for a spouse to get GC if she or he didn't apply during AOS

So the option is to see if H1B visa can be obtained.

this is not normal scenario; even many h1 dependent employers are providing timely paystubs like clockwork.
in visa stampings they do value bank statements with payroll deposit; so in worst case scenario they cud be used to explain ur case.
Also if ur company is mailing stubs to u via postal service, u can record the postal date on the covers and show that regularly ur receiving paystubs in a delayed fashion. The Lawyers are allowed to explain clearly in text during a RFE, they cud attach the bank statements and use this postal mark/actual pay date delays to explain ur situation.

It is not easy to ask anything we like. Recapturing visa need bill in both house and senate. IV is working hard on many action items. Please start taking part in all action items asap.

As part of Class action lawsuit can we ask for recapturing of all unused visa numbers? I believe the number is at least 300K, it covers the green cards for 2003, 2004 and 2005. 2006 can go with 2008 quota. So everyone will be happy.
I believe this is the provision we should fight for instead of CIRcus.

Can you provide some more information on the AILA liaison meetings? Excuse my ignorance but I have never heard of it before.
Can we ask AILA to support the letter campaign? Specifically, can we ask AILA to push for recapturing 218K unused visas and clarification on how they might be allocated, if recaptured?

It is my understanding that these liaison meetings are to discuss specific administrative and procedural issues at the service centers (not to discuss major reform). To get an idea of the topics covered see http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?bc=6721|6727
The docs themselves are available to AILA members only but you can see the topics discussed.
So to the extent that you have specific questions about the adjudication process itself you can send them to an AILA member and ask them to submit those questions to the AILA Liaison committee which may or may not choose to ask that question in the liaison meeting with USCIS -- each session has specific sub topics so they don't address every question out there.
Recapture and other major changes to the law are likely handled by other committees at AILA.

I'm surprised that with a November 2001 PD that you are getting an interview already, since EB-3 is still retrogressed--EB3 world is only at July 1 2001 for June 2006
The PD fot EB3 is April 07 2001 I think. Anyway.... there should not be a cause for concern. The reason you got an AOS interview is that USCIS is adjudicating cases pending Visa availability. If there had been a concern then there would have been another RFE on it. You should be happy that some progress has taken place.

My thought was the same as yours in that by attaching my 485 receipt notice, and 140 approval notice when my spouse files for his 140/485, we can just inform USCIS at that time to connect our 485 applications. Based on that, once my spouse gets his green card, I would get mine as well.
I wasn't sure how it would work out if we waited for his 140 approval to come before we informed USCIS. Since he is from a non-retrogressed country, I was thinking that the safest approach would be to inform them sooner than later. You mentioned that I could file as a derivative once his 140 was approved. But the idea is not to file another 485 application for me. In my opinion that would confuse things further.
What steps are you taking in your case? I'm assuming that you and your spouse each have only one 485 application, each being independent of the other?

USCIS has a list of diseases they check for on their website, and herpes is not one of them. If it is, more than 10% of the people applying for GC will be rejected. So, you are fine.
