One of my cousin works in oracle and he has mentioned to me that oracle is not filing in EB2 category (they used to file before), not sure is it for every one or depends on team to team or person to person.

Eb3Retro, Did you sign G-28 initially for your (previous employer's) attorney to represent? if so how did you change the representation?
i have not changed attorney so far, just wanted to retain the same guy until i extend my EAD this time, (which is pending and awaiting results anytime soon) , once this is done, i am going to file G28 and self file AP myself. My attorney charges exorbitant fees for doing this, just for the safety sake, just for ead extn i used him...few more days and i will say thanks for all his services..

I have one more question? When I spoke with USCIS and opened the inquiry in dec 2010. why did they come up with " RFE resposne not received till todate?" Do you think thye just checked the online status and responded back. My lawyer says that they spoke with someone at Texas service center and they told them that they have received the response. I had filed labor in June 2008 and as per the attorney they havent received any update from DOL. I had requested my employer/attorney to atleast send a screenshot of my status and they say cases that old are hard to pull up on DOL website. Is it really that hard with DOL to login and see the status as compared to USCIS? For my comfort I requested them to send me a screenshot and I am getting stiffed even on that! Can you please answer if attorneys can login to DOL and see the status of any PERM applicant? In this age of electronic media a department as big as DOL doesnt even provide updates to applicants/firms to view their statuses?

you can search for cases filed using start and end date - its nothing fancy or interesting as you might have imagined - if your employer is indeed saying that its hard to pull old cases - its total BS -- either they dont want you to worry or they dont want to divulge your case number

Median value is OK for reference, couple of places, it is quoted that 20,000 GC numbers are available for EB2. For 40 working days in Aug/Sep, it averages to 500 GC per day.

My friend received a letter from USCIS in response to his phone call asking then why they have not taken a decision inspite of 60 days expired after responding RFE. This is what the letter mentions.
The status of this service request is:
Your application is pending the availability of 3rd preference employment based Visas. Currently there are none available. You are invited to visit the Department of State website where you may keep abreast of any developments regarding this classification of Visa.
What does this mean ? Now, he don't have to worry about any future RFE/Denials ? Can he make his future plans assuming he will get his GC one day ?? His PD is 2001.

Well, doing it on my own isn't a problem. It's just that my employer is a behemoth and has ironclad policies.
Having said that, filing fees for EAD extension are $340 and for AP $305 per applicant, right?
Now I'll try my best to get EAD/AP extended either by me or the employer but if that doesn't happen (say my employer says it's our policy for you not to do it on your own), will a gap in EAD/AP create problems?

However, an abrupt termination or something similar can create trouble as applying for an EAD at that time and waiting for an approval will take months and cause a lot of stress. It can be painful enough to regret every morning the decision to not extend the EAD just to save $600.
If you do not have a copy of your 485 notice, then you cannot extend your EAD. But if you have it (you should), then it is your property and your employer has no say in this matter. Remember that the H-1b and 140 belong to the employer, but 485/EAD/AP are your own.
