If there are any questions from children on what careers they should gravitate toward,
Intellectual property attorney should be high on the list. Its replaced sales as a way for company's to gain revenue. Just take the results of other company's sales. No matter that they out executed you on whatever idea you claim.
They all do it now.

The older models are no longer being made, that is correct.
My guess, as I stated earlier...So the only model they're going to sell is the Elite Slim one once the supplies on the current Arcade and Pro are out?

guess the bigger question
will this be available in coach or is this just a first class option?
It may be in all classes if it's on seat-back displays. First class usually gets better displays than that, as the seat is usually quite a distance in front of the people in 1st class. :o
And besides, what good is a service like this when the large majority of travellers will never see this?

This is the primary design flaw with the iPad. This tablet can't be the normal person's computer unless every normal person has a tech friend/relative to keep the tablet working/updated. So while Woz is correct that the tablet will be the normal person's computer, Apple's iPad is not yet that tablet.
I'd say that's also the primary design flaw of the PC, although it wasn't very hard to overcome. Every normal person DOES tend to have a tech friend/relative just to keep their PC working/updated. I'm that tech friend/relative in most of my social circles, and if you're posting here, you're sure to be one too.

Considering the Mini got bumped lately do you reckon that's very likely?
Yes.
I'm sure Apple will progress the Mini to C2D when they Macbook is updated. The Mini only received a minor speed bump the last time around and I bet it had more to do with keeping consistant pricing than it did with updating a product.

Yes - all they've decided to do is REVIEW it. They've overturned nothing. And the overturn rates are very low.
It's still on, no matter what you try to spin it as. A review is a review. This is the same as when an appeals court decides to hear a case, they haven't overturned anything until they've overturned something. But they can't overturn something without first REVIEWing it. ;)

Apple should've held out on the refresh to include USB 3 and even HDMI. Thunderbolt is currently useless.
DisplayPort to HDMI cables that support both audio and video are quite inexpensive from many online sources. I use one from my iMac to my 40" LCD TV and the DP port takes up a good bit less space than an HDMI port would (which can be important for a portable device).

And honestly, who's to say that the price wont rebound after the clearance sales end? If I were looking to sell I could probably wait a couple of weeks and make $50 or so more than what I paid for it today. Just sayin.

What about denying somebody a job because of their, say, intelligence? Charisma? Any number of things that are largely predetermined?
Surely it would be unfair to judge somebody by their intelligence because so much of it is down to parental intelligence and wealth; how much they can teach you and how much they can pay for the best educations. (D's A)
In theory I suppose we should only judge people for things which are entirely their own doing; things which are neither a product of their genes or upbringing. But then, taking those away, what remains?
Not much really. In practice, I fear people are at least in some part judged for merits in which their efforts play a smaller part. Like natural intelligence, or sporting ability. Is this wrong? Perhaps on some abstract moral level, but I think it's probably permissible unless someone wants to call me a senseless bigot.

Those two actor's names are only known in America, I'm sure Japanese have never heard of them (and probably don't care much either), Australians wouldn't know who they are.

This trend on these forums of people making posts without apparently reading the original post or any other posts in the thread before making a post is getting a little annoying.
Which of those things allows you to stream video and audio from an IOS device?
If iOS supported DLNA you would be able to do this without any new standard, there is no need for a new apple developed standard for this, I can stream video from my android phone to my TV, Bluray and PVR already. This is something devices have been able to do before Airplay came along.
It's not hat these devices need a new standard, just for apple to support an already industry wide used one.

someone explain this to me.....wouldn't activating push notifications absolutely KILL my iPhone 3GS battery life?? I've never been able to figure out if push notifications are bad to turn on cause they drain battery life?
Thanks!
they do a little but not to the extent of background processes, and having 20 push apps takes no more battery life than having 1, unless you get very frequent pushes from them of course.

Does this include everything that comes standard on a Mac box?

Huh. Are there other tablets out there? I mean besides the Ouija board and Etch-a-Sketch? I thought the others from Sony, HP, Microsoft and such were all just pre-manufacturing prototypes... I've seen iPads. Everywhere. Never seen any other brand.
Speaking of such things, I have seen the Barnes and Noble Nook. Ugh. Ick. Yuck. Disgustipating. Maybe it was a joke. They had them at a Barnes and Noble setup for users to try out. Most didn't even work so they're not durable. Those that did work had problems with applications not functioning, books missing pages (in an eBook?!?) or not working, etc. Sound was poor. I'll save my money for an iPad.

Thinking about it, but its $50 more than I can get my wife to spend over the $349 refurb 16gig from Apple.com
Called all the stores around me and they do not have the 16gb.

I've read the various comments about problems with the updates with RAID 0. Can anyone confirm if the update goes ok on RAID 1? I would think it would since from a boot point of view they might as well be individual disks.
I would say it still wouldn't work, as the OS X RAID implementation is software RAID. Hence, OS X has to boot to get the RAID array working.
In the case of RAID 1 if it did work it might break the mirror (no big deal).
Give it a shot. Worse case it won't work; shouldn't affect your data at all.

If you want just the email account then yes, .Mac is not worth it. That's the point. .Mac is more than email, and if you want an email address, get Gmail and hook it up into Mail.app....
Are you saying you're happy it costs $99? You don't want to pay less, no? The more complaining and bad feedback we give Apple that this service is simply too expensive the better, and the better chance we have they will begin to pay attention to loads (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=.Mac%20too%20expensive&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8) of posts/blogs/and stories on this. I feel sick when I have to tell someone how much it costs. I mean they say .Mac syncing is included! You have to pay to sync computers that you payed money for, and worse still you have to give it to the company you bought the computers from?? Give me a break! GMail is free too. iWeb provides little bandwidth, and the whole this is wrapped-up with a tiny storage package. And I don't think the solution is for Apple to give us more storage. I would prefer a cheaper price to more storage any-day. If you want moe storage then you pay $99, otherwise this should cost no more than $49 per year. At the VERY MOST!!

Somehow I was expecting to see a lot more praise and excitement for the 3DS after it launched....
The 3D effect seems to trigger mixed reactions. Other than that...there really doesn't seem to be anything truly exciting about it? I don't see any "wow, those graphics!!" or "holy cow, this thing is fast/powerful" type comments.
The general vibe I am getting from here and other places is more like "pretty neat", rather than "wow, so awesome".
