Well, thanks all for your responses, but I am as cfused as I was before I posted the question. Do any of you have any sources to back your claims. I know for sure that worldwide income has to be reported, so thanks for that clarification desi3933. But do you have a source that mentions that a person on H4 can for sure work outside. It is against immigration rules to work in any form or manner on an H-4 visa. The immigration rules clearly state that H4 status holders can only do voluntary work.

If you were smart enough, you would have started a new thread and not use a thread titled 'USCIS - Annoncement its official'. You very well know the implications of raking up such sensational threads and if you do not, you should, going forward. Nothing personal bro. And hope your situation improves.
Also, if it helps here's my story: I'm a 4.0 GPA grad from one of the best univs in the US. I have been in this country for 12 years now with more than 10 years of work experience. However, my title still says that I'm a programmer. Sucks right? Yeah, others around us will grow, prosper and succeed in life. Feels bad to be in our shoes. This is a choice that each one of us has made. However, that does not mean we vent out our frustrations on a public forum. Even if we do, we should use proper means. My 2c :)

The online status of your H1 petition is irrelevant when you obtain a SSN card. If the SS people are making it a problem, what they are doing is ILLEGAL. They probably lack essential training for a SS employee. They should accept the notice you show them as proof of approval. If they do not, they are supposed to accept your application for a SS card pending further verification, where they manually contact USCIS and verify your approval (through electronic SAVE, or traditional SAVE forms).
If they refuse, demand to ask for a supervisor, and explain that online statuses sometimes never get updated because USCIS is not required to do so.

My client is a TARP fund received bank.I am planning to go India for 3 weeks in may.My visa expires in Aug09.
I have new H1 extension for 3 years.
--If I go for visa stamping will it be a problem as I am workig for TARP received bank.
--If I don't go for visa stamping and planning to comeback with old visa, will it be a problem at Port Of Entry as my client is TARP received bank and I am on H1B.
you don't have to go to india to restamp your H1B. you can rather stay here and whenever you are going out of the country you need to get h1B stamped.
Regarding TARP received bank, the rules may even change when you had gone for a vacation. Its better not to go back during recession and most important keep your eye open for another job position.

Call me superstitious but just wanted to kick off this thread again in the hope that this miracle will repeat this year. I have a gut feeling 2011 will bring that magic moments again.

Yes for new applicants it's wonderful. For old applicants it's double the money and double the time (to get GC counting time from the first time they applied for GC ) or even more time than the new applicants.

When you get the statement from an India bank, ask them to include the USD amount as of that date. That way you have both USD and INR amount in the statement.

Today when I looked the I-485 status I found the status changed to card production ordered. I'm traveling to India on 1st Dec (coming saturday). It is a business trip and I'm unable to postpone it. My attorney says If I travel now, they will consider the GC abandoned. Is this true?? I have an approve AP with me. I also planned to stamp my H1B visa in India. What a confusion!
Gurus please give your thoughts.

So, I am not sure about your case getting abandoned.
But, if your lawyer says that your application will be considered as abandoned, I would listen to his/her advice rather than any of us on this forum since none of us are qualified attorneys. The only exception would be a person who has travelled outside while the GC got approved and has been thru this situation before.

My I140 got rejected with reason "Education Equivalency" not once but twice, because I just have 3 years of Bachelor's degree (BSc Comp Science) and one year of diploma in computer science.
So my employer reappealed it, now the status of my I-140 is showing as "Sent to AAO" would like to know if there are any chance's of getting I140 approved? Did anyone had this kind of issue. Please reply!

Hi,
I need some URGENT HELP here. My I-485 was denied and so has been MTR filed by my attorney. To give you a quick background of my case:
I-140 approved in 2007
I-1485 in August 2007
Received RFE in May 2009. The RFE had two parts to it that are as follows:
Part 1: Request for Evidence for Birth
Part 2: When I filed the application, the following question was left unanswered by mistake:Have you ever, in or outside United States been arrested, cited, charged, indicted, fined or imprisoned for breaking or violating any law or ordinance, excluding traffic violations
When i sent the response, i included birth certificates for wife and I but somehow both my attorney and I did not notice that we failed to answer the question - the second part of the RFE. Because of which my I-485 case got denied.
Within 3 days of receving the denial notice, I , through my attorney filed a MTR that included a signed declaration that I have never been arrested. Today I received an email update from USCIS that my MTR has been denied. I will know more once I get the reasons for denial.
What are my options here? Is there a way this case can be fixed and brought back on track or am I in a no-go situation? Please advise on the next steps.

How can people file a complaint against attorney who makes such a mistake. I have heard you can do it in state Bar.
But please explain the process, pros and cons. And if this really works. A detailed response will be appreciated to help people like one above who paid money to a lawyer thinking he will work professionaly and diligently on the case. However increasingly I find careless attorney cases on the forum.
I want to also know what you think about this and how one should complain.

Actually Steve I've been doing some reading and research but I've always been some what of a "show me don't tell me" type person. At the present I only own the Kit lens that came with the D70 (AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED). So you have me at a disadvantage when you speak of limitations of a lens that goes to 5.6 on the long end. Basically I'm looking for a affordable zoom for landscape, concert and sport photography. I've read several favorable user reviews but then not knowing the source of these reviews you don't know if they also gave four and a half stars to a coke bottle. Reading through posts here on the forum I can tell who are the professional photographers by their equipment knowledge. So saying that there are opinions I would find more valuable than others. In a nutshell I have found the lens in question on Ebay at a current bid of 250 dollars. If I am correct this is half of what it lists for. I'd just like to know if it would be a good buy/good lens for a aspiring photographer to begin expanding his lens arsenal with.

I took the gif into fireworks, looked at in the 4 by preview mode, then took it down to 32 colors... that makes it 16k .

it is a matter of how good do you want it to look vs. small file size.... anything else will take much more time (export individual frames, then import into FW, then optimize/export, then paste into layers, then export as animated gif...
